LPT – Productivity and the Ultradian Cycle

The Pain Point

As someone who works full-time as an online-based clinical hypnotherapist, I’m always on the lookout for ways to improve my effectiveness in helping clients achieve their goals. However, despite being successful in my work, I often felt like there was more I could do, something missing from my sessions.

Failed Attempts

In the past, I had tried various approaches to optimize my work hours and techniques, but nothing seemed to give me that extra boost of productivity and client engagement. My sessions were a standard 50 minutes, which while effective, still left me feeling like there was untapped potential waiting to be unleashed.

Breakthrough Hack

That’s when I stumbled upon the concept of the Ultradian cycle or Ultradian rhythm – our daily rhythm of focus and rest that controls everything from energy levels to cognitive function, with a typical 90-minute cycle. Intrigued by this discovery, I decided to experiment by switching some of my familiar clients to 90-minute sessions.

The results were nothing short of stunning. Not only did I feel like I could accomplish all I needed to in those extended sessions, but I also observed significant improvements in my clients’ responsiveness and engagement. By the end of each 90 minutes, they would be in a more introspective state, ready to reflect on our work together.

This breakthrough wasn’t limited to just my client interactions, though. I applied this same principle to other areas of my life – like work projects, reading, and even recreation – partitioning tasks into these 90-minute blocks whenever possible. The impact was remarkable; my mind wandered less, I was more focused, and felt much less overwhelmed.

Life After

Adopting the Ultradian cycle hack has been a game-changer for me. It’s helped me not only in my professional work but also in my personal life, offering a clear solution to the daily struggles many of us face when trying to stay productive and engaged. By recognizing our natural rhythms and working with them rather than against them, we can unlock significant improvements in how much we achieve.

What I Wish I Knew Sooner

One thing that stands out to me now is the importance of observing and understanding our own body’s natural cycles and rhythms. Had I known about the Ultradian cycle sooner, I might have started applying its principles even earlier in my career as a hypnotherapist. This awareness has allowed me to tailor my work and personal life around these natural cycles, leading to more effective outcomes and a better overall quality of life.
