Simplifying my Life with Systems (Not as Boring as it Sounds HA!)
As a stay-at-home mom to two energetic boys, I’ve realized that being wealthy in time is the ultimate goal for creating a rich life. But, I’ve also discovered that minimizing tasks I dislike – like excessive cleaning and organizing – allows me to be more present with my kids. The quote “A perfectly kept house is the sign of a misspent life” hit home (pun intended), and I decided it’s time to establish systems for simplifying my life.
Top Life Hacks
1. Sock Station
Keep socks on the porch by our shoes in a bin, making them easy to find and put away.
2. Label Love
Organize cabinets and closets with bins, using a label maker to keep everything labeled and organized.
3. Capsule Wardrobe
Create a capsule wardrobe for myself and the kids to reduce clutter and make getting dressed easier.
4. Permanent Donation Bin
Set up a permanent donation bin in the hall closet to encourage regular decluttering.
5. Laundry Station
Use a laundry bin for just towels, keeping them separate from other clothes and easy to wash.
6. Cute Towel Rack
Install a cute towel rack that the kids can reach, teaching them responsibility and independence.
7. Medicine Organization
Organize medicine in a designated area, making it easier to find what you need when you need it.
Hack of the Week
Meal Schedule Mastery
Use a binder or calendar to schedule meals for each day of the week, planning ahead and reducing mealtime stress.
Favorite Pick
My personal favorite system is the Siri Playlist, which allows me to create and play playlists with just my voice. It’s been a game-changer for keeping the kids entertained and me relaxed.
Bonus Tip
Don’t forget about the power of a Cleaning Caddy! Keep all cleaning supplies in one place, making it easy to grab what you need when you’re tidying up.
